Illuminus Festival

Public Art Installation

Project Overview

Inspired by the famous memoir by Polish author Jerzy Waldorff (The Pianist), Miraculous City was a spectacular site-specific live piano concert and video montage projected onto the walls of the SoWa Power Station Building (The Trolley Barn) in October, 2014.

We initially planned to use an existing composition, but when we partnered with Elizabeth Schumann, she offered to create an entirely custom piece for the project, writing a beautiful score that fit the projection perfectly.

The performance, musical composition, and visual art were commissioned by the Illuminus Festival developed by Jeff Grantz to celebrate a new era of arts in the City of Boston.
